Lilith McKee
Past Notes
September 29th, 2025
We continued working on simple scales and holding notes, and voice control for the first 15 minutes.
She actually seems to have improved somewhat with voice control.
After that we went to the computer and played through Taylor Swift, Shake It Off.
She is trying to sound like the singer she's listening to, and I'm encouraging her to use her own voice instead.
September 22nd, 2025
We worked on holding notes at the beginning of the lesson, and singing some scales, vowels, mountains and hats. We even did some "water waves" and jagged mountains!
After that we sang Charlotte Cardin, Confetti, working on the chorus especially.
Lilith holds the sound in her throat, and has an affectation on her voice like how she thinks famous people sing. We need to get her to sing like Lilith, without any encumbrance on her voice.

We started at the piano singing some scales and exercises, and practise with controlling voice, making "hats" and "mountains." We then went to the computer to sing along with her song of choice, Golden.
We tried it with instrumental only tracks, but since she doesn't ready she has trouble remembering the vocals - I asked her to work on memorizing the whole song for next time.

Lilith is learning vocals, and we started with some conversation about her favourite music and so on, and then tried some singing to get an idea of her ear and ability to stay on pitch. We used a graphical pitch monitor, which I'd love her to use on her own phone as a practise tool.
After that, we went to YouTube and sang a song called Golden by Huntrix. We worked on some pronunciation ind enunciation issues.
